Several top kicking, punting, and long snapping prospects competed last weekend in the Fall 2016 Kornblue Kicking & Snapping Challenge in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The Fab 50's #1 nationally ranked 2017 punter Bradley Robbins (Westerville South HS-OH) once again showed why he's Division 1 caliber by earning overall Punting Champion honors. Robbins’ refined technique, strength, and consistency were on display as his best punt traveled 5.04/54 yards. Devyn McCormick (Port Charlotte HS-FL) edged out Jose Perez (Golden Gate HS-FL) to earn class of 2017 Kicking Champion honors. McCormick displayed consistency on FG’s and strong kickoffs, including multiple that traveled 70+ yards. He has consistently demonstrated Division 1 level talent as a kicker and punter.

The Fab 50’s #1 ranked kicker overall, 2018 K/P Rafael Checa (St Johns HS-DC), did not disappoint. His strength was at another level during the camp. He and Cameron Shook (Grosse Pointe South-MI) both earned Kicking Champion. All five of Checa’s kickoffs traveled between 70-78 yards. Shook took home the 2018 Punting Champion honors in his first Kicking Challenge event.

The 2019 class is loaded with talent. One of the Fab 50’s top kickers nationally, Zack Sessa (Venice HS-FL), who already holds an offer from USF, tied for 3rd as a kicker and came in 2nd as a punter. Andres Montero (Spanish River HS-FL) earned the same amount of points as Sessa. Montero is a big leg to keep an eye on. Aidan Swanson was the 2019 Punting Champion and also earned co-Kicking Champion honors along with Jimmy Lowery (American Heritage-FL). Lowery handled the pressure well in his first Fab 50 event.

Punter Ryan Anderson (Olivet University) had a strong day. Anderson is a two-time AFCA First Team All American, an Academic All American, and set the Division 3 record for punt average. He is a graduate transfer who has been in communication with several big schools but has not made a decision yet. Two other college transfers, Trey Tuttle (JUCO-TX) and Carson Wise (Carson Newman), also showed D1 talent.

2017 LS David Demeter’s (Cocoa Beach-FL) combination of accuracy and velocity helped him to edge out 2017 LS Jake Goldberg (Calvary Christian-FL) for the award as the event's Long Snapping Champion. Demeter is a strong athlete who has shown constant improvement over the past couple years. His performance elevated him to our 5 star rating. Junior college snapper Jon Sullivan (JUCO-FL) showed D1 ability, as did 2018 snapper Oscar Shadley (Golden Gate HS-FL). Shadley already holds an offer from Marshall University.

Other 2017 top performers included Bryce Baringer (Notre Dame Prep-MI), Josias Jean (Fort Myers HS-FL), Alex Usry (Eagles Landing-GA), 2018 standouts included Donny Dinerman (Gulliver Prep-FL), William Pryzystup (Oviedo-FL), Jake Moody (Northville HS-MI) and Eric Stranz (Southwood Secondary-ON). Jimmy Lowery (American Heritage-FL), Aidan Swanson (Tampa Jesuit-FL), Zack Sessa (Venice HS-FL), Andres Montero (Spanish River HS-FL), and Kenny Scribner (Charlotte HS-FL) stood out in the class of 2019. Luke McDaniel (Evangelical Christian-FL) and Mason Campbell (Barron Collier HS-FL) were top performers in the 2020 class. Joshua Lopes (Doral Academy-FL), Carson Wilt (Somerset Academy Canyon-FL), and Christian Silverstein (FL) impressed in the new Youth division.

The next Kicking & Snapping Challenge event is scheduled for late April 2017. For more info, visit www.KornblueKicking.com or contact Brandon Kornblue at (561)702-0203.
