FLORIDAKIDS.us CLASS OF 2005 RECRUITING EVALUATION:

While you can find out just so much about watching film on an athlete or talking to him on the phone, there is a major advantage to seeing the athlete live. I have been fortunate to see more high school football players in person in the state of Florida than any other source.

In these Recruiting Briefs, I will try and give you some quick points about the athlete. If you should need a more extensive evaluation, please feel free to e-mail me at FloridaKids1@hotmail.com.

I hope you enjoy this rare look into the football players in the state from a firsthand:

PLAYER: Dan Mitchell.
SCHOOL: Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee
POSITION: OC
HEIGHT: 6-3
WEIGHT: 240
www.floridakids.us PRE-SPRING RATING: Not rated.

THE SCOOP ON THIS FLORIDA KID: While Florida's Panhandle remains one of the unexplored parts of this state by recruiters and services (look for that to change over the next year), there are often football players who are emerging with the ability to play the sport in college.
EVALUATION: "One of the main reasons for the surprise of this 5-5 team in the state playoffs a year, Mitchell is a quality center who has quick feet, improving strength, controls the line of scrimmage and continues to work hard in the weightroom.
While he isn't an upper D1A prospect right now, he continues to learn, become a force at the center position and is getting better as he learns more about the position. This is one of those young men we talk about when we tell you players to keep an eye on throughout the season. "
THE INSIDE STORY: When you watch film or check out players in person, there are so many valuable athletes you uncover, and here is a perfect example of that!.
