2010 Florida WR Prospects to Watch

Wide Receiver is typically one of the deepest area's in Florida for talent, 2010 will be no different. Here are 25 prospects from the Sunshine State.

1. WR- Ricardo Miller(Michigan), Dr. Phillips, 6'2, 200

*Miller hauled in 34 balls for 615 yards(18.1) and eight touchdowns. Miller has deep speed with a chiseled frame, great upper body strength. He is a solid route runner and has played some TE displaying his toughness. Miller rarely drops a ball and projects to be a true #1 option at the next level. He is a mismatch for smaller DB's and can run past safeties.

2. WR- Kadron Boone, Trinity Catholic, 6'1, 190

*First Team All-State for 2B. Boone had 42 catches for 937 yards and 10 touchdowns in the regular season. Big, fast, skilled, with hands. Goes and gets the ball when it is in the air. Athletically top notch. Returned from a knee injury better than before.

3. WR- Chris Dunkley, Royal Palm Beach, 5'11, 170

*2nd Team All-State for 6A. Offensive Player of the year for Palm Beach County by the Sun-Sentinel. Second Team All County by the Palm Beach Post. Dunkley is a player who can score from anywhere on the field. He had 14 touchdowns combined rushing, receiving, and on special teams. He had 638 yards receiving. Potential national recruit. Timed at 4.43 in the 40.

4. WR- Willis Wright, Miami Springs, 6'1, 185

*Second Team All County by the Miami Herald. Physical wide receiver prospect who is a natural athlete. Uses his hands to create separation as a wide receiver. Wright excels at running routes, has 4.5 speed, and blocks in the running game. He had 22 catches for 529 yards(24.0) and 8 touchdowns as a junior.

5. WR- Quinton Dunbar, Booker T Washington, 6'3, 170

*Honorable Mention All-State for 4A. First Team All County by the Miami Herald. Hauled in 39 passes for 703 yards with seven touchdowns. Tall, with a wiry frame, he is just coming into his own. Nice speed for his size and rarely drops a ball.

6. WR- DeJoshua Johnson, Pahokee, 5'11, 160

*Second Team All County by the Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel. Johnson may be the quickest player in the state. Can make you look silly in the open field. Outstanding burst. Solid deep speed.

7. WR- Ivan McCartney, Miramar, 6'1, 170

*Second Team All County by the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald. Tall, lean, silky smooth wide receiver with solid speed and a great pair of hands. Got to play with Geno Smith and was a go to wide receiver in clutch situations. Plus height. Projects well to the next level.

8. WR- Ted Meline, Booker T Washington, 6'2, 175

*An outstanding package of size and speed. Transfered to Booker T Washington from Westlake Prep. Quiet kid who lets his play do the talking. Has every intangible that schools are looking for. Already fast, smooth stride and ability to find the ball in the air separate him from pack.

9. WR- Javon Bell, Ribault, 5'11, 175

*First Team All-State for 2A. Named first team All-First Coast by the Florida Times-Union. Had 29 catches for 731 yards(25.2) and scored 14 touchdowns. Bell has the deep speed to run past defensive backs. Play-maker, get him the ball and sit back and watch. Should contribute immediately on special teams.

10. WR- Michael Lee Harris, Miami Northwestern, 6'2, 180

*All the tools at the WR spot including good deep speed and solid frame. Needs a little more consistency. Capable of the big play or going over the middle of the field.

11. WR- Joshua Reese, Miami Central, 6'0, 180

*2nd Team All-State for 6A. First Team All County by the Miami Herald. Caught 45 balls for 793 yards and 10 touchdowns. Solid across the board.

12. WR- Kenny Shaw, Dr. Phillips, 5'11, 165

*2nd Team All-State for 6A. Shaw had 64 catches for 914 yards(14.3) with 10 touchdowns. Shaw has great explosion and wiggle in space. Has great hands and not afraid to go over the middle.

13. WR- Jeamiah Crawford, Auburndale, 5'10, 170

*Crawford is a big time play-maker with the ball in his hands. Natural wide receiver with hands and route running skills. Not the biggest nor fastest, but is solid in both regards.

14. WR- Ryan Lankford, Paxon, 5'11, 170

*Silky smooth glider who has tremendous athleticism. Very versatile. Kicks off, kicks extra points and field goals, punts, returns punts and kicks. Shows potential as a wide receiver because of his ability to find the ball and quality hands. One of the best natural athletes in this class.

15. WR- Marcus Cunningham, Kathleen, 5'11, 160

*Second Team All County by the Ledger. Athletic. Cunningham is another WR with great tools. A little raw in route running. Has untapped potential.

16. WR- Brandon Graham, Leon, 5'10, 170

*Highly productive wide receiver since he started at Leon as a freshmen. Play-maker with the ball in his hands. Lacks ideal size, but makes up for it with penchant for making plays and overall natural skills.

17. WR- Sean Tapley(South Carolina), Raines, 6'0, 170

*Caught 29 balls for 494 yards and four touchdowns. Smooth wide receiver who will go up and fight for the ball. Great hands and good acceleration. Has enough speed to run past DB's. Has some route running skills. A little raw.

18. WR- O.J. Ross, Mainland, 5'10, 180

*Honorable Mention All-State for 5A. Ran a 4.35 40 recently with a 29 inch vertical. Had 31 catches for 641 yards and nine touchdowns for team that finished regular season undefeated. Shows great quickness.

19. WR- C.J. Bostic, Wolfson, 5'8, 165

*4.42 40. 9'2" broad jump. 31.5 vertical. 4.2 shuttle. Elite speed and sure hands. Raw, needs to work on route running. Should be great on special teams.

20. WR- Allen Sampson, Tampa Plant, 5'9, 160

*2nd Team All-State for 4A. Second Team All County for the Tampa Tribune. Great speed and showed solid hands. Huge numbers. Caught 56 balls for 867 yards and 11 touchdowns.

21. WR- Dennis Hall, Pahokee, 5'10, 170

*Caught 26 balls for 413 yards and six touchdowns. Big catch in state championship game for win. Plays bigger than his size. Had 10 catches for 173 yards as a sophomore with three scores.

22. WR- Sean Corker, Cardinal Gibbons, 6'2, 190

*Second Team All-State for 3A. First Team All County by the Sun-Sentinel. Hauled in 44 catches for 912 yards(20.7) and 13 touchdowns. Broke school record for yards and touchdowns receiving. Outstanding athlete with plus size and solid speed.

23. WR- Ace Sanders, Manatee, 5'8, 165

*Son of FSU great Tracy Sanders. Has been producing since freshmen year. Caught 27 balls for 517 yards(19.2) with seven touchdowns. Quick, with explosion.

24. WR- Allen Hurns, Carol City, 6'2, 175

*Had 23 catches for 423 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. Plus height at wide receiver. Terrific athlete.

25. WR- Terrell Williams, Boca Raton, 5'10, 160

*First Team All County by the Palm Beach Post. Registered 546 yards receiving with 11 touchdowns.
