Hollifield Having a Big Spring

One of the top pass catching TE's in the Sunshine State is Chad Hollifield. At 6'2, 225, Hollifield combines speed with outstanding hands. The rising junior will line up at TE and on the DL for North Florida Christian next season.

After a State Title in 2008 and the return of one the nation's top Quarterbacks, the expectations are high for the Eagles, "The team is working hard for another State Championship, without a doubt I'm playing the best football of my life."

Spring is an opportunity for players to work on their game, improve, and Hollifield has been focused on one particular aspect, "My blocking has improved greatly, all the time in the weight room has paid off." One player who has noticed is QB Clint Trickett who has consistently raved about the all around game of his new weapon.

As a receiver there has never been any question he is a tough match-up for defenses, "My receiving continues to excel, we worked a lot this off-season at passing camps and our timing is excellent right now." Hollifield could form a devastating 1-2 punch with one of the best WR's in the panhandle, Cason Knight.

In terms of recruiting, NFC boasts a bevy of prospects in the 2010 class. Hollifield was excited about one opportunity, "At the top of my list is FSU. I received a hand written letter from Coach Coley, the tight ends coach, about going to camp so they can get a better look at me. I've also spoken to Coach Fisher. Some other schools that want me to come to camp are USF, FAU, and ECU to name a few." Hollifield's team mate Drew Gentry is committed to East Carolina.

Looking forward Hollifield has his summer mapped out, "Aside from going to camps, first and foremost I want to stay in the weight room and get stronger. I also plan on working on my quickness with a trainer named Oneal Brown. I want to do everything I can to make myself better to help us win another State Championship."
