I waited and waited for others to liven this board up and you would not do it so now here I am. Back with my very accurate prophecies and predictions for each region in the 2012 soccer season.
Region 1: Cairo takes it, not because they're good (they not) but because the rest of that region is so terrible. If there was true justice in the playoff system none of these teams would even go to the playoffs but 4 of them unfortunately will.
Region 2: Perry is the only team out of this region that I see as a real soccer team with respect outside their immediate area. I predict some people from Mary Persons will have something to say about who graduated from Perry and how this is going to be their year... don't bother thinking of new stuff, just copy and paste what you have been saying for the last 6 years.
Region 3: You would think a region with this many teams in it would have at least one good team, not the case here. Grovetown wins this one by default and then gets embarrassed in the playoffs... again.
Region 4: I get private messages all the time telling me how good Charles Drew is. I haven't seen them play but their first round loss to a team nobody ever heard of before last year leads me to believe they might not be that great of a soccer team. Still, they won the region last year and I don't know anything that says they won't win it again this year.
Region 5: Now we are finally getting to some good soccer schools. After what they have proven the last few years you would have to be stupid to pick against St Pius. I'm not stupid, so St Pius it is. I wouldn't be totally surprised however to see Woodward step up for the upset. I watched their play in the finals and they were both solid team, but for some reason I like Woodward more. Picking St Pius, rooting for Woodward, either way both have a legit shot at making a deep run to the playoffs even all the way to the finals.
Region 6: Ahhhhh, region 6. what to say and who to pick? I don't know i just don't... who am I kidding, I gotta go with my team. Columbus steps up after a disappointing year last year and comes back to real Columbus soccer where the Fed will be waiting for you with open arms. Nothing but the best.
Region 7: SE Whitfield took it last year, but something tells me they won't be able to do that again this year. This one will be the year of the Dalton in region 7. I almost hate to pick a team that lost to Cairo in the playoffs but something tells me that was a fluke. Dalton takes the region in 2012.
Region 8: there is MUCH good soccer going on in this region. I picked Oconee last year and was way off. I'm going to say that was more of a reflection of how good the region was and not how bad Oconee was. I don't see anyone challenging Gainsville, Johnson, North Hall and Oconee for the 4 playoff spots and I'll go with Gainesville for the region championship, but look for Oconee to rebound this year and take a close second.
LET THE TRASH TALKING BEGIN!!!!!!!
