RomeWolves21, You seem to keep up with the soccer in the North West fairly well. My question to you is. What do you think of teams like Rome, Coosa, and Calhoun this year? Are they going to have a strong season? Flunk? or average?
Well it depends on what your definition of strong is. Rome is not as talented top-to-bottom as they were last year but they still have a chance to make the playoffs. I don't see them making much noise if they do make it, but you never know. Coosa is a solid AA squad that will probably take second in the region, play a weak team at home in the first round of the playoffs, then bow out in the second round to a private school powerhouse. I see Calhoun winning the region, following the same route in the playoffs as Coosa except possibly having a chance to win their second round game and advance to the quarterfinals, depending on who they're playing. Notice I said possibly as I don't think they will.
Well said. I do not believe Rome is going to make it to the playoffs. They already dropped a region game pretty bad. (5-1) Ouch.... As far as Coosa and Calhoun I agrre on what you said. But I have not checked the brackets but I have heard that Region 7 does not get to face a Region 6 team until the third round. Dont quote me on that though. Wacth out for North Murray though. Only lost 1 player from last year's squad.
I wasn't at the Rome game but I heard from a reliable source the score should have been much closer, that Rome actually looked the better team during the game, so you never know; we'll see. As far as playoff brackets they will be the same as last year; they'll change next year though
EDIT: Actually, the brackets have changed. So I guess my predictions are a little off.
