Daughter? Wow thats awesome! I saw where an 8th grader (boy)in California last year ran a 5:15. But I think that would be considered way better than just a GOOD time. Last week in Metter a middle schooler (boy) won the mile with a 6:01 and he was 25 seconds faster than 2nd place.
Go to GATFXC.com and look under rankings, pull up the middle school boys and girls rankings and click on any event and you will see every ranked kid and their performance in that particular event that has been recorded and sent in this year.
2 boys in Dekalb county ran 4:57 in their county meet. Yhey were both 7th graders. 3 MS girls in Ga. have run right 5:20 this year.A 6 th grade girl in Oconee has run 5:48 this year.A 5th and 4th grade boy at Athens Christian havr run 5:16 this year.
Is that the same as the 800 mtrs? He competes in the 800 & 1600 mtrs for Crisp County MHS. He recently won both events in Fitzgerald. Thier girls are also good. They beat dooly in almost every event. That county used to have awesome talent on the track when I was growing up! They had Roger Kingdom on thier team. My first tackle in HS was in my freshman year against the Bobcats in thier backfield. They won state that year in FB. They also won in track as I recall. Hard to run against a world class runner.
Hi, found this website and wanted to reply to this thread. My daughter lives in Illinois and is 13 and in 7th grade. She ran 4 1600 meter races since April 17. Times are in this order 5:29-5:18-5:12-5:11. She has run after these 1600 races at the same meets 200 meter 28 and 400 at 104 and 800 at 225.
Wow, I wish my daughter had someone that fast to run against. She has had to run those times without being challenged so far. She is a state champ in two other sports from Illinois and works really hard. This is the first time trying individual sports. Unfortunately that meet Sat was her last schools meet, that she will get to compete in this year. She will compete in the AAU or USATF this year we think. She is homeschooled and won't get to run in the State Final, but we know she is the fastest in Illinois(middle school) and would race anyone here to prove it.
Thanks, buddy. Hey, any idea what the heck happened with the Terrell kid stepping off the track??? That was bizarre! Glad to have won a Title, but hated that it had to be at the expense of a kid doing something ...well...I don't know what to call it.
