I had the volume down and was watching the game while trying to rock my son to sleep. I'm telling you this because the T. V. commentators could have clarified the issues I saw..
There were 2 different plays where, if I saw it correctly, our brothers officiating the game really messed up.
Issue #1: I believe Colquitt had the ball and just prior to the snap, a DL jumped offsides. The wing threw his flag but allowed the play to continue. After the play ended, each team was hit with a dead-ball, personal foul penalty. The officiating crew got together and administered the dead-ball penalties in the order they occured THEN they proceeded to enforce the offside penalty.
Issue #2: I believe Valdosta was on offense when they fumbled the ball. It bounced around for a second and Colquitt dove on it and, on my T.V., it was obvious that his knee, and other parts of his body were down. Instead of blowing it dead, when you young dove more.
I very easilly could have, on accident, transposed the teams but the scenarios are valid --------------------------------------------- --- Jmuvol12 wrote:
I'd tell you to give us what you want us to look at. Other than that, your choice...
The first I remember well because I was confused. They offset the penalties then moved the ball up because of the offsides call. What made it weird to me is that it seemed like the refs threw the 3rd flag to correct themselves. Knowing that the play shouldve been dead from the start the 3rd flag came very late and was put in place to offset the first personal foul which they HAD to call because it was very open to the crowd. I will look for that play though.
The second one was huge. We all (on the Valdosta sideline) thought the play was dead and it really caused an uproar because the players thought the same thing and had pretty much stopped playing which allowed Colquitt open room. I can show you that play as well but from my angle it was kind of hard to see where the ball is when he hits the ground.
