Brown Excels on Field and in Class.

There are several standout speed backs in the state of Georgia for the class of 2004, and Thomas Brown may be the quickest of them all. He rushed for 1,700 yards as a junior for the 12-1 Tucker Tigers, and his coach said that he is a legit sub 4.4 player.

"He's one of the most talented guys I've ever coached," said Head Coach Bill Ballard. "He's consistently running under a 4.4 when we time him. He's a 10.6 guy in track, and he was 3rd on our team in total tackles as a junior last year. He can play running back or defensive back." Brown is an excellent student that has picked up one offer already, and there are several more to come. "Georgia has told him there is a scholarship waiting for him, and I think Ohio State is pretty close to doing the same. I know he likes Georgia, and he likes the offense that Maryland runs as well. Penn State, Illinois, West Virginia, and Mississippi State have all come by early to see him. With his talent and academics, I think he'll be able to go wherever he wants to go. He's just kind of taking it all in right now; we haven't really talked about leaders." Tucker went 12-1 in 2002, and they only lost 8 seniors from the entire team. With Brown leading the charge again, the Tigers could make a run at the 4A title this season.
