Stephenson Strong Man

Josh Johnson is one of the top linebackers in the south this season. He is big, strong, fast, and productive. Last season he helped lead a young Stephenson High School defense to an undefeated season by posting 151 tackles and five sacks.

Johnson's strength is amazing. One practice last summer I witnessed him make a tackle by getting under a wing-back with his forearm and lifting him into the backfield and onto the ball carrier. At 6-2 and 225 pounds with a 4.56 forty Johnson has physical skills to play inside or outside linebacker on the next level. He has several early offers, and one of the teams has jumped to the front of his Top 5.

"Miami, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Auburn have offered me scholarships," said Johnson. "I'm going to try and go to summer camps at Georgia and Auburn. I'd say that Miami is my favorite team right now. I like the other teams that offered me, and Florida would probably round out my Top 5."

Stephenson lost a lot of firepower on offense with the graduation of Kregg Lumpkin, Reggie Ball, T.J. Gartrell, and Israel Route, but Johnson will be back to lead the defense.
