1 (1)
Manatee logo
Manatee (11-0) Bradenton, FL

Manatee didn't expect much trouble from Northeast; they didn't get any. Up next is a rematch with Venice. A game that Manatee won 56-27 10/19.

Last: Def Northeast 65-12
: 11/23 Venice (9-3)
2 (2)
John Curtis Christian Logo
John Curtis (11-0) River Ridge, LA

Curtis hasn't had an opponent worthy of being on the field with them since September. North Webster did nothing to change that assertion. Up next is a Riverside team that entered the playoffs with a 4-7 record and was beaten by 59 by Curtis earlier this year.

Last: Def North Webster 50-6
Next: 11/23 Riverside (6-7)
3 (3)
Vista Murrieta Logo
Vista Murrieta (12-0) Murrieta, CA

Vista Murrieta is another team that hadn't been tested in a while, but last week they ran into a Norco team that would hit them back. The Broncos prevailed, but it was a sloppy win full of turnovers that saw Norco down one score and a chance at an onside kick in the fourth quarter. Rancho Cucamonga will stand toe to toe with Vista Murrieta this week.

Last: Def Norco 31-16
Next: 11/23 Rancho Cucamonga (10-2)
4 (4)
Katy Logo
Katy (11-0) Katy, TX

Katy tuned up for the stretch run by blowing out its first round opponent. The Tigers are going to blow out their second round opponent as well.

Last: Def Westbury 77-7
Next: 11/23 Langham Creek (9-2)
5 (5)
Bellevue Logo
Bellevue (12-0) Bellevue, WA

Bellevue won another snoozer in a blowout win over Peninsula. Mt. Si brings an 11-1 record into the next game with its only loss being a 49-10 laugher against Bellevue. Yes, there is that big of a difference between the top two teams in Washington and everyone else.

Last: Def Peninsula 40-3
Next: 11/23 Mt. Si 40-3
6 (6)
DeSoto Logo
DeSoto (11-0) DeSoto, TX

DeSoto cruised past Harker Heights, but there are no free rides in the Texas State Playoffs. Up next Coppell. DeSoto has played a much tougher schedule than Coppell this year, so we know how good the Eagles are. We're about to find out how good Coppell is.

Last: Def Harker Heights 62-15
Next: 11/24 No. 23 Coppell (11-0)
7 (7)
University School Logo Ft. Lauderdale
University (9-0) Ft. Lauderdale

University had a complete victory over Cardinal Newman in a 27-0 win, but this week the Suns are going to have to buckle the chin strap for the first time in a while as they butt heads with American Heritage.

Last: Def Cardinal Newman 28-0
Next: 11/23 No. 19 HeritageAmerican Heritage (11-0)
8 (8)
North Allegheny Logo
North Allegheny (12-0) Wexford, PA

Seneca Valley was going to be a good test for North Allegheny. The Tigers got an A+ in a convincing 47-17 win. Woodland Hills is next on the docket, a dangerous team who knocked off Gateway two weeks ago and avenged a week one loss to Upper St. Clair with a big 42-20 win last week.

Last: Def Seneca Valley 47-17
Next: 11/23 Woodland Hills (10-2)
9 (9)
Butler Bulldogs Logo
Butler (13-0) Matthews, NC

Butler passed a big test on Friday with a 25-15 win over East Forsyth. Up next is a Week 0 rematch with Mallard Creek. Butler is the only team to beat Mallard Creek this year, and the Mavericks have been on a rampage since.

Last: Def East Forsyth 25-15
Next: 11/23 Mallard Creek (12-1)

10 (22)
Mentor Football Logo
Mentor (12-1) Mentor (OH)

Mentor has knocked off Top 10 teams on consecutive weeks with a high power, fast break offense. The Cardinals scored 63 on then No. 4 St. Edward and avenged an earlier loss to No. 10 St. Ignatius in a three overtime epic win. This week it's another Top 50 opponent in Whitmer. There are no breaks in Ohio.

Last: Def No. 10 St. Ignatius 57-56 (3OT)
Next: 11/24 No. 46 Whitmer (13-0)

11 (14)
Grayson Logo
Grayson (10-1) Loganville, GA

Grayson had to wait an extra day to see who its opponent would be after some regional tiebreakers were put in place. Seems Wheeler drew the short straw to face the rampaging Rams.  North Gwinnett is capable of beating anyone on any night though, so round two gets a little more interesting.

Last: Def Wheeler 49-9
: 11/23 North Gwinnett (10-1)
12 (11)
Good Counsel Logo
Good Counsel (11-1) Olney, MD

Last: Def St. John's 21-7
: Season Over
13 (13)
De La Salle Logo
De La Salle (11-0) Concord, CA

The only thing interesting about De La Salle's schedule is who won't be on it. Mission Viejo drops out of the Open Bowl race with its loss as Vista Murrieta moves on. Who will De La Salle, the perennial North representative, face in California's Open Bowl Championship?

Last: Def Pittburg 35-13
Next: 11/23 Amador Valley (8-4)
14 (15)
Cibolo Steele Football Logo
Steele (11-0) Cibolo, Texas

Steele is still at least a week away from getting into the real games in the Texas State Playoffs. The Knights won't have any trouble with Roosevelt this week.

Next: 11/23 Roosevelt (9-2)
15 (17)
St. Edward (11-1) Lakewood, OH

Last: 11/9 Lost to Mentor 63-56
Next: Season Over
16 (18)
Louisville Trinity Logo
Trinity (11-1) Louisville, KY

St. Xavier of Kentucky has been playing much better football this season and they almost did the impossible, knocking off Trinity. The Shamrocks aren't the juggernaut they were last season and have had to gut out more than one win this season. Beating Scott County in the Semi-Finals may not be a forgone conclusion.

Last: Def St. Xavier 15-14
: 11/23 Scott County (12-1)
17 (19)
Bishop Gorman Logo
Bishop Gorman (11-1) Las Vegas, NV

Last: Def Chaminade-Madonna 30-14
Next: 11/23 No. 7 University (9-0)

20 (23)
Camden County Logo
Camden County (10-1) Kingsland, GA

Pity the team that drew Camden County in the first round of the playoffs after the Wildcats lost their first game of the season the week Prior. It was Hillgrove who got the wrath of Camden County. This week it's East Coweta who gets blown out.

Last: Def Hillgrove 52-17
Next: 11/23 East Coweta (5-6)
21 (24)
Byrnes Logo
Byrnes (12-1) Duncan, SC

The 5-7 Spartanburg Vikings went out like you'd expect a 5-7 team to go out in the playoffs, in flames. The competition this week gets a little stiffer against Gaffney who beat Byrnes 22-18 earlier this season.

Last: Def Spartanburg 54-13
: 11/23 @ Gaffney (10-3)
22 (25)

: 11/23 Northwestern (9-2)

Last: Def MacArthur 31-7
Next: 11/14 No. 6 DeSoto (11-0)
24 (28) Booker T Washington Logo Washington (10-1) Miami, FL

Washington's first round opponent was 4-5. Their second round opponent was 5-5 on the season including a 49-6 loss to Washington earlier this year. Yes, Washington will need to get a little further in the playoffs before being challenged. Cocoa in the Semi-Finals might do it.

Last: Def North Broward Prep 71-0
Next: 11/23 Gullver Prep (6-5)
25 (29)
Hoover Logo
Hoover (11-0) Hoover, AL

With McGill-Toolen going out in the round of 16, Hoover has to be considered the favorite to win it all again in 6A. The Bucs took care of business against Pell City and will face Vestavia Hills this week in the quarter-finals. Hoover beat Vestavia Hills 35-15 on 9/28.

Last: Def Shades Valley 38-7
: 11/23 Vestavia Hills (10-2)
26 (35)
Narbonne Logo
Narbonne (12-0) Harbor City, CA

Because Narbonne plays in a division it dominates, the Gauchos frontload their schedule with out of league opponents. They won all those and are cruising towards their City-Section final against Crenshaw.

Last: Def Garfield 45-0
Next: 11/23 Carson (6-6)
27 (30)
Skyline Logo Sammamish
Skyline (12-0) Sammamish, WA

It took a quarter for Skyline to get warmed up, but once they did the outcome was predictable.  Camas brings an undefeated record to its game with the Spartans, and we'll find out if Washington is a two team state (Bellevue/Skyline) or a three team state. The Papermakers will look to upset the heavily favored Spartans.

Last: Def Roosevelt 54-21
Next: 11/23 Camas (13-0)
28 (26)
Allen Logo
Allen (10-1) Allen, TX

Week 1 of the playoffs was a cake-walk for Allen, but Week 2 is an entirely different story as the Skeeters of Mesquite come calling.

Last: Def Richardson 63-14
Next: 11/23 No. 35 Mesquite (11-0)
29 (31)
Bentonville Logo
Bentonville (11-0) Bentonville, AR

West Memphis was a solid opponent for Bentonville in the second round of the playoffs. You wouldn't know it by the way the Tigers thrashed them though. Bentonville should handle Southside in the Semi-Finals.

Last: Def West Memphis 42-0
Next: 11/23 Southside (8-3)
30 (32)
Dallas Skyline Logo
Skyline (10-1) Dallas, TX

Last: Def Plano 35-14
: 11/23 Horn (8-3)
31 (33)
Ensworth Logo
Ensworth (12-0) Nashville, TN

The second time wasn't the charm as Ensworth beat Montgomery Bell Academy by the exact 35-7 score the Tigers beat them on 10/5. Oscar Smith Logo
Oscar Smith (11-1) Chesapeake, VA

Oscar Smith proved to be the better team against a tough Salem team that pushed the Tigers to the brink. Ocean Lakes is up next. While this is just a quarter-final, this has the feel of a State Championship.

Last: Def Salem 34-28
: 11/23 Ocean Lakes (12-1)
33 (36)
Southlake Carroll Logo
Carroll (10-1) Southlake, TX

I thought Carroll would get a better test last week against Arlington Martin, no dice. The Dragons roared past  the Warriors. El Dorado could be in big trouble this week.

Last: Def Arlington Martin 65-7
: 11/23 El Dorado (7-4)
34 (37)
St. Bonaventure Logo
St. Bonaventure (11-1) Ventura, CA

Last: Def Santa Margarita 27-21
: 11/23 Mater Dei

35 (38)
Mesquite Logo
Mesquite (11-0) Mesquite, TX

Last: Def Sachse 50-28
Next: 11/23 No. 28 Allen (10-1)
36 (39)
Saint John Bosco Logo
St. John Bosco (8-4) Bellflower, CA

Bosco remains unbeaten on the field and needed to come from behind to beat Notre Dame after losing a 10-0 halftime lead. It's the type of resiliency the Braves have shown all season. They're going to need to dig deep this week to hold off a surging Long Beach Poly team who just got done ending Mission Viejo's season.

Last: Def Notre Dame 24-17
Next: 11/23 @ Long Beach Poly (9-3)

37 (10)
St. Ignatius Logo
St. Ignatius (11-2) Cleveland, OH

St. Ignatius found out what St. Edward found out two weeks ago, that Mentor is for real. It took three overtimes to out the Wildcats who finish their season at 11-2.

Last: Lost to No. 22 Mentor 57-56 (3OT)
: Season Over
38 (40)
Gilman Logo
Gilman (9-2) Baltimore, MD

Last: Def Calvert Hall 35-7
Next: Season Over
39 (42)
Goose Creek Logo
Goose Creek (13-0) Goose Creek, SC

Goose Creek had a fight on its hands against a good Bluffton team, but the Gators moved on to the third round with a solid 35-25 win. Goose Creek now gets Northwestern in the Semi-Finals, a team that is seven points away from being undefeated, including a four point loss to Byrnes on 9/7.

Last: Def Bluffton 35-25
Next: 11/23 Northwestern (11-2)
40 (12) Colerain Logo
Colerain (12-1) Cincinnati, OH

Last: Lost to Archbishop Moeller 24-21

42 (44)
Norcross (11-0) Norcross, GA

Last: Def Grandview 21-17
Next: 11/23 Valor Christian (10-2)

45 (47)
New Bern Football Logo
New Bern (13-0) New Bern, NC

New Hanover got a second shot at New Bern in the playoffs, but the result was the same. The Bears were the only team to beat New Hanover this year, and they did it twice.  Scotland is up next in the Semi-Finals.

Last: Def New Hanover 49-35
Next: 11/23 Scotland (12-1)
46 (48)
Toledo Whitmer Logo
Whitmer (13-0) Toledo, OH

Whitmer will attempt to slow down one of the nation's hottest teams in Mentor, something St. Edward and St. Ignatius were unable to do. Whitmer didn't play the grueling schedule of some of Ohio's top teams and should be relatively fresher for the final playoff run.

Last: Def Washington 49-16
Next: 11/24 No. 10 Mentor (12-1)
47 (16)
Mission Viejo Logo
Mission Viejo (11-1) Mission Viejo, CA
