Coach Bill Harris' Lakeside-Dekalb Vikings finished 2-8 on the season last year, but with 16 starters returning, they have a chance to make big improvements this year. The Vikings will not be short on experience, that's for sure, especially on the defense.
James Phillips, Brandon Williams, and Haseem Abdul-Salaam will all be three year
starters this season. A veteran linebacking corp will go a long way towards
improving the Vikings' record. Jason Courseault, Anthony Broudnox, and Will
Dunbar (S) will also be three year starters at their respective positions.
Cortez Key will be a key component in the secondary as well.
Key games as always include Stephenson, Douglass, and Southwest Dekalb. Lakeside
will face an early test from AAAA Dunwoody on August 29th.
