TCCHS looks to higher power at quarterback

Moses Cochran is the best running back on the Thomas County Central Yellowjackets, he's now also their best quarterback. With all everything Erik Walden sidelined, Cochran has been called upon for quarterback duty, and he's filling in quite nice.

"Our starting quarterback (Walden) may not play again Friday Night against Ware County", says TCCHS Head Coach Ed Pilcher, "but we are confident in Moses. We don't hesitate to put him out there and keep Erik out if he's not ready. We need a runner back there and Moses is a runner."

On the season as the starting tailback, Cochran has compiled 798 yards and 13 touchdowns. In an offense like TCCHS runs, it is crucial that the quarterback is mobile and with good feet.

"He's (Cochran) a good athlete", says Pilcher, "He's a tough competitor, hard nosed, and easy to coach. He does what you ask him to do. He's rock solid, we don't hesitate to put him out there."

Cochran led the Jackets to a win last weekend at Cairo. Unless Walden is back in time for kickoff, Cochran will line up again under center against Ware County with the Region Title on the line.
