Bainbridge hopes it won't find itself Up the Creek

Sandy Creek Head Football Coach Rodney Walker is about as direct as they get. "This is by far the best team we've had."

It's hard to argue that fact. Sandy Creek has been nothing short of amazing this season. At 10-0 overall, Bainbridge has its work cut out for them.

Sandy's offense has put up numbers like 42, 42, 45, and 46 points. This team has never scored less than 24 points in a game.

"We knew our offense would be good, they were all coming back", says Walker, "but our defense has been the big turnaround. We were hoping they would play well and they have."

Walker says Bainbridge reminds him a lot of North Clayton, a big and strong team, willing to do whatever it takes to make the big play. Bainbrige has a lot of good athletes, good size and speed but when you look at the names on the Sandy Creek roster, only a college coach could appreciate this.

Guys like Calvin Johnson, Larry Beard, Andrew Gardner, Phillip Hyde, Will Hudson, and Jeremy Long are a murders row mash unit that could take Sandy Creek all the way.

"We've lost enough over the years", says Walker, "we appreciate what we have and realize that in 4A, South Georgia football is real good...we're glad to have this game at home."
