Tucker defensive end to focus on playoffs

There may be defensive lineman bigger than Tucker's Brandon Lang, but they are in the NFL. At 6-5, 220 pounds, Lang is head and shoulders above most offensive lineman he goes up against.

That's one of the main reasons for Tucker's 9-1 record. In those nine wins are three shutouts, and three games were the opposing offense scored only three points.

Lang is not just big, he's also fast. His 40 yard dash time was clocked at 4.5, which is good for a wide receiver, let alone a defensive lineman.

Georgia and Florida State are the two schools in the top of Lang's wish list and either would benefit from his talent.

"He's going to be about 270 pounds when it's all said and done", says Tucker Head Coach Bill Ballard, "he fits the mold of the defensive ends."

As a Junior, Lang led Tucker with 16 sacks. As a senior, he leads the team in sacks and tackles for loss.

This weekend, it's Ringgold, a team that Ballard says is very talented and very good.

As for which college Lang will go to, Coach Ballard says Lang will officially visit FSU, UGA, Florida, Arkansas and maybe one other.

But for now, he's focused on the playoffs and when Tucker is eliminated, or standing with a state championship, then the phones will ring, and the college coaches will be pounding down the door of one of the biggest lineman in the South.
