Houston County on the road again in Valdosta

Thanksgiving is coming at a perfect time for Valdosta's Rick Darlington. Actually, Thanksgiving and Christmas came about two months ago.

It was then when the Cats thought their season was over, but seven straight wins has them in round two of the post season this Friday night against Houston County.

A week ago, Valdosta scored 63 points in route to a blowout win...they also put up a goose egg on defense. Houston County is as good of a team as Valdosta has seen all year. \

The Bears have three losses by a total combined score of 10 points. They too can play a little defense. Houston's dee has posted four shutouts, including a blanking of Groves in ound one of the playoffs last Friday night.

The guy to watch out for is Houston running back Cedric Hodges. Hodges is one of the best backs in the state, and is already committed to Georgia.

Valdosta's defense is good, but how good can they be against a guy like Hodges. Houston has been in some hostile environments, but nothing like the one they will play in on Friday night in Valdosta.

But if you think the Bears aren't used to the road, well, this is their 6th consecutive game away from Houston County.
