Buford tries to avoid sting against Cook County

Surprise, Surprise...Buford is undefeated after two rounds of the playoffs.

Remember the movie Ground Hog Day with Bill Murray? The one where the same thing happens over, and over, and over again?

Such is the case at Buford High School. But you won't hear anyone complaining about the Ground Hog Day effect. Buford is 12-0 and Head Coach Dexter Wood has his guys playing deep into the post season again.

On Friday night, Buford will host Cook County out of 2-AA. The Hornets have a little sting of their own, compiling an 11-1 record under Head Coach George Dean.

This could be the game of the night in Georgia High School Football. Two teams with a ferocious defense, and an NFL type offense. It'll either be a shootout of mass proportions or quite the defensive struggle, it's really hard to tell.

Buford once again stacks the college football guides with Division 1-A talent. A school that has produced P.K. Sam, Lorne Sam among others, has at least three more this year. Darius Walker, Neil Brown, and Zach Smith led Buford to playoff wins against Blessed Trinity and Adarsville.

Speaking of defense, Cook has two shutouts this year while Buford went the first month of the season without even allowing a field goal.

The winner of this game should be ear marked for the state title game.
