Student Sports is hosting its annual Nike Camp throughout the country starting in early April. The camp gives high school football players a chance to show college coaches what they can do, and how they stack up to the rest of the players around the south.
Athens is the site of one of the Nike Camps. That event takes place April 28th, 2002 at 11 am. The public can attend this workout, but is required to stay a "safe distance" from the field.
The Nike Camp will work like this:
- Registration (:30)
- Warmup (:15)
- Height & Weight measurement and optional tests (40, 20-yard shuttle, bench press, vertical jump). *Test results can be scratched upon request by an athlete (1:00)
- SAQ Drills (1:00)
- Break (:15)
- Position-specific drills (1:00)
- One-on-ones (:30-:45)
If exposure is what you or some of your players need please do not hesitate to contact Dean Legge. Please note that Student Sports is requesting that "Coaches should be sensitive to the fact that we simply cannot take more than two or three players from a high school, unless that school is a very above average program with a track record for producing D-I talent.
