Big Roswell Linebacker makes Big Impression

Will Roach is a huge middle linebacker from Roswell High School that has helped the Hornets get off to a fast start. At 6-3 and 259 pounds, Roach will play defensive line on the college level. Roach played his high school ball in Pennsylvania as a junior before making his way back south for his senior season.

"I had 13 tackles in the first game, and I had 5 tackles in the second game of the season," said Will Roach. "We're 2-0 right now, and we play Pope (2-0) on Friday. I also play basketball for Roswell. I average 10 points and four rebounds a game."

Having moved as a junior, Roach was a little behind in the recruiting process, but he has still gotten noticed by several big time programs.

"I've been getting hand written letters from West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Nebraska. I've also been getting letters from Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, and Iowa. I grew up a Georgia Tech fan."

Roach is still open to offers, but he lists some schools he is looking at harder than others.

"I like Georgia Tech, Virginia, West Virginia, and Georgia. I went to passing leagues at Georgia Tech and Georgia."

What does he like about each of his favorites?

"Georgia Tech is close to home, and I grew up a fan. I like the defensive scheme at Virginia. West Virginia has been sending me a lot of letters. Georgia was my second favorite team growing up."

Roach likens his game to one of the best to ever suit up in the state of Georgia.

"I try to compare my game Jesse Tuggle; he's a hard worker and a heavy hitter."

ScoutTV* was in attendance at Roach's first game at Roswell in which he registered 13 tackles. See him in action now.
