Bowden Red Devils lose stadium
The Bowden Red Devils will be homeless indefinitely during the 2002 season. Until the new stadium is ready, Bowdon games will be played at Central. No time limit has been set on when the facilties will be ready, but estimates are that Bowden will play away during the entire football season. Exactly seven months ago Tuesday, Bowdon fit as many folks as Sewell Field could possibly hold in its stands for a Class A state championship football game. Fall jamborees start on Aug. 9, with the first games of the 2002 season scheduled locally for Aug. 30.
