Region 1-AA looks much like it did last year with the only exception being
Fitzgerald. The reigning 2 champs moved over to Region 1 and should be
in the hunt for a playoff spot despite losing several key players to graduation.

Randolph-Clay also jumped up from Region 2-A as the reigning region champs,
its first region title in school history. The Red Devils feature one of the top young running backs in the state. Chris Clay, now a junior, has already topped the 4,000-yard mark in his career and should help the Red Devils be a factor.

Defending region champs Cook (10-3 in 2005) and Brooks County (9-3 in 2005)
each deserve top 10 consideration, while Early County and Thomasville add to the
region's depth, leaving six quality teams fighting for four playoff spots.

Closing out the region are Albany, Berrien and Mitchell-Baker, three teams
that combined for five wins a year ago.
