Region 8-AA is also subdivided into two subregions and on paper, one side looks to be much stronger that the other.
The South side of the region appears loaded with Greene County, Morgan County, Washington-Wilkes and Putnam County making up part of that group. Greene County features one of the state's more-exciting players in quarterback Josh Nesbitt (2,833 passing yards and 31 TDs; 1,252 rushing yards and 22 TDs), while Washington-Wilkes jumps up to 8-AA after losing to Lincoln County in the Class A state championship game last year.

in 2005, finishing 9-3, while
The North side of the region
consists of Banks County, Dawson County, Fannin
Fannin County, which lost its last five games, drops to 8-AA from Region 7-AAA. Banks, Rabun and Union County each struggled a year ago, combining for six wins.
