Rockdale players hospitalized at camp
After several hours, three were released from the hospital, but a fourth remained hospitalized in Americus Friday night. Coach Larry Mortonson said the boys fell ill because they declined adequate water and weren't physically prepared for the camp. Parents refuted his statement, saying the exercises at the camp physically and mentally abused the boys. One parent, Rosemary Brumby, called for the coach's resignation. Mortonson is beginning his first year as head coach of the Bulldogs.
