Vidalia wants to end drought

Vidalia must improve in order to justify its high pre-season ranking. Middleton is confident that they can.

Ken Middleton, Vidalia's impressive running back, explained that he and his teammates are excited about the upcoming season.

"We have a great line. Brad Williams and company open up holes for me. The line is very aggressive. Brad has a mean streak in him. They block well for me."

Vidalia, the #9 team in Georgia AA football, is the highest ranked team in their region. This is the case even thought the Indians have not beaten Toombs County in a very long time.

"When Toombs County plays us they give it their all. They have beaten us for 8 years in a row. I am looking to end that. Last year we were winning at the half, but let it slip away."

Middleton was hopeful that with the help of the Indian defense Vidalia could break the 8-year drought that Toombs County has on them.

"Our defense runs a 5-3 and is anchored by Eric McClendon. They are powerful. They pounded Early County last year; they said that we were the best defense that we played all year last year. We hope to improve on that."

Vidalia must improve in order to justify its high pre-season ranking. And Middleton is confident that they can.
