Hart County QB has been offered

The state of Georgia has several quarterback prospects in the class of 2008, but already college recruiters are starting to take notice of Hart County's Kurvin Curry. Curry recently picked up his first offer from a school in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Kurvin Curry, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound quarterback from Hartwell (Ga) just recently received a very important text from Duke Recruiting Coordinator Glenn Spencer.

"Coach Spencer got my number from my head coach and then he sent me a text asking me to call him," Curry explained. "That's when he gave me an offer. He said he was looking at my film pretty hard and decided to talk to the head coach. He said my grades were straight and I'm alright for an offer."

Curry has a strong arm. He's also very mobile with the ability to throw on the run.

"My strong point is I can move and I've got a good arm," Curry said. "I can get away from the tackles, throw the ball on the run, and stuff like that. I don't look to run it, but I can run it if I have to."

Hart County advanced to the third round of the state playoffs before losing to Peach County 23-20. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 10-3 record.

"We came up short against Stevens County for the region title, but we went on to beat Dunwoody in the first round," said Curry. "We beat Cartersville in the second round and lost to Peach County in the third round. It was a very good season and we were just that close to playing in the Dome."

As for next season, Curry will be returning, as will star running back Ren Teasley on an offense that likes to run the football.

"I think we'll do good things consistently like we did running it this year," Curry said. "I think we'll try to pass it a little bit more and spread it out a little more. We'll be looking to go deep within the playoffs again, probably challenge Stevens County for the region championship again."

His list of favorites are Duke, Clemson, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Curry plans to visit Duke sometime in January. Stay tuned to GAVSV.com for more updates on Kurvin Curry.
