Player of the Game
Shaw Sophomore Wingback/Athlete #34 Kyle Griswould, Class of 2009
It was a relatively quiet 3rd quarter, with the best scoring opportunity of the
period being snuffed out when Shaw's Bryan Willis knocked down a pass in the
endzone and the Raiders took over on downs in their own territory.
Another special teams mistake by Carver extended a Shaw drive when an
encroachment penalty gave Shaw a first down. On its first play from scrimmage,
Shaw turned the ball over on its own 30. On Carver's first play from scrimmage,
they fumbled the ball right back.
Carver and Shaw traded punts in the 4th quarter. Carver had what looked like one
last shot with 2:21 left in the 4th, the Raider defense that had been so strong
all morning took care of business and protected the two point lead.
The first half scoring
highlights turned out to be game highlights as the team remained deadlocked
in the 2nd half.
So instead of showing you 2nd half scouring highlights, we're going to show you
video highlights of the Player of the Game for Carver who didn't get to make any
of the scoring highlights like Kyle Griswould did for Shaw.
Junior Linebacker Patrick Grant was all over the field for the Tigers in a
losing effort. He will be a player to watch for in the Class of 2008.
