Northside Warner Robins jumped out to an early lead, then hung on to beat St. Pius 20-17. See the Scoring Highlights in this presentation by ScoutTV.

First Half Highlights

Opening the second half, St. Pius' ground game really started to click. Five yards here, three yards there for first downs before sophomore running back Jonathan Tinsley got loose for a long run. Senior guard Bobby Bray had an outstanding block to spring Tinsley. The PAT made it 13-10 Northside with six minutes left in the third quarter.

Momentum was definitely with St. Pius as they held Northside and forced a punt. The Golden Lions were once again driving methodically down the field, but momentum is only one play away as Northside forced a fumble. The visitor side of the stadium erupted, and big MO was with Northside headed into the fourth quarter with the Eagles still on top 13-10.

Northside Quarterback Marques Ivory threw a beautiful pass over the middle that got the Eagles first and goal. After two straight stops by Tinsley, Green went off tackle and slipped a couple of would be defenders for his third touchdown of the game. The PAT was good, and Northside went up 20-10 with 8:30 left in the fourth quarter.

A halfback pass by Tinsley was picked off and returned to the St. Pius 39 yard line. Northside was able to get first and goal, but the Lions held and forced a field goal attempt. The kick was missed, and St. Pius took over with four minutes left on the clock trailing 20-10.

St. Pius was not yet ready to go home. The Lions drove down the field with big plays and a little help from a personal foul on Northside, and quarterback Dylan Knight found Joey Flint in the endzone for a pretty pitch and catch. The PAT was good, but there was only 1:16 left on the clock.

The onside kick was recovered by Deonta Jordan for Northside, and they were able to run out the clock for a 20-17 victory and a date in the State Finals.
