Tift County DB looking for first Offer

Tifton (GA) - Tift County's Randy Parker is one of the top overall cornerback prospects in the Peach State. Stanford and Middle Tennessee State are among the schools that have opened their eyes to Parker. Neither has extended an offer, but both schools are recruiting him pretty hard.

Randy Parker, who ran a 4.49 in the forty yard dash at the Scout.com combine, commented on the two schools that are giving him the most attention.

"I'm receiving a lot of interest from Middle Tennessee State. I just talked to the coach a couple of days ago and he said they were going to get my recruiting process started this January because they are finished with their bowl game.  He said they were very interested in me."

"I was also talking to Stanford and they said they were really interested in me too.  I've got to get my SAT scores up to get into Stanford,  so I'm going to be taking it again this month.  Hopefully I can achieve that goal."

What is Parker looking for in a school?

"I want to be able to play early," said Parker. "They've got to have good academics.  Those are like the two main things that a college has to have for me to play for them."

Parker finished with 54 tackles, 11 pass deflections and 4 interceptions on the season.  He helped lead his Blue Devils to a 12-2 record and a trip to the state semifinals at Georgia Dome.

"We had a great season this year, Parker said. "We new coming in this year we had a chance to go all the way. We made it to the Dome, but came up one game short of the championship. I mean we had so many college prospects on this team. You've got Israel Troupe who is the No. 1 receiver in the state.  We new we had a lot of weapons on offense and defence."

Parker was selected first team All-Region and he has a list of four favorites.

"I like Middle Tennessee State, South Carolina, Florida and Stanford," said Parker.

South Carolina is another school that has recently contacted to the speedy cornerback prospect.  Check back with GAVSV.com for more updates on Tift County's Randy Parker.
