Milledgeville (GA)- Baldwin running back Darius Marshall had several solid D-I offers to mull over before making a decision about his recruiting. Michigan State, Maryland, Illinois, Marshall and Indiana had all offered scholarships to the Scout.com two-star prospect.
Last weekend Marshall took a trip to Huntington, WV to visit the Thundering Herd of Marshall.
"It was a nice facility," said Marshall. We saw the weight room, meeting rooms and we saw where the players hang out. I talked to the coaching staff and they were really good to me. I met several players and got along great with them. It was just a good expierence for me."
He came away very impressed while listing the Herd among his top schools. Then after receiving an in-house visit from the Herd coaching staff a few days later, Marshall narrowed his list of top schools down to one.
"I committed to Marshall after an in-house visit on Thursday night," Marshall said. "Coach (Todd) Goebbel who is my recruiting coach came by along with a couple of their other coaches."
Marshall had two other official visits scheduled to Illinois and Louisville, but he decided to cancel them after he committed to Marshall.
Darius Marshall finished with 2,300 yards rushing and 28 touchdowns as a senior.
