GAVSV.com just received confirmation tonight that John Keye, a highly touted wide receiver from Jackson, Ga., was killed in a car crash on Saturday.

John Keye starred at Wide receiver for Jackson High School where he played under head coach Mike Parris.  As a senior, he had 33 receptions for 551 yards and 7 touchdowns while leading the Red Devils to a 10-2 record and a trip to the second round of the state playoffs.

Keye was a Scout.com three-star prospect who committed to the University of Kentucky back in July of last year.

"I committed to Kentucky," Keye told Miller Safrit of Scout.com. "Talking to the coaches and seeing how they want to build the program there, and I think I can be a part of that. I committed on the 4th of July, but I did not put it out until today. I had wanted to do it during the game of senior night, but I just wanted to get it over with."

At 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, Keye was honorable mention All-State and he played for the South in the Georgia North-South All-Star game in Columbus, Ga. on December 29th.

Keye was also a member of the Jackson Red Devils basketball team.
