Madison County QB Has A Leader

Danielsville, GA - Madison County quarterback Jarrod Owens has apparently found a school to his liking. With signing day approaching, Owens visits two schools in the next two weeks including one that he really favors.

GAVSV.com recently talked to Jarrod Owens about the latest happenings with his recruiting.

"I'm taking my visits right now," said Owens. "It's not looking good for any Division I schools, but I've got a visit setup to Wingate University this weekend."

"I've got another visit coming up that I'm real interested in.  It's Division III, but it's the Coast Guard Academy."

This upcoming trip to New London, CT could be a BIG one for the Coast Guard Academy.  The Eagles could come away with a pledge from the 6-foot-1, 186-pound quarterback prospect.

"There is a lot of Division II schools that are giving me interest, but the Coast Guard Academy is at the top of my list.  It's a full scholarship and you really can't beat the benefits.  Plus Coach George said I would be starting for him next year.  I'm really, really considering that one."

Jarrod Owens is the son of Madison County head coach Randell Owens.  As a senior,  Owens threw for 2,032 yards and 15 touchdowns to lead the Red Raiders to an 8-3 record and a trip to the state playoffs.
