Bryan Ellis Commits to UAB

Fort Valley, GA - Peach County quarterback Bryan Ellis has emerged as a wanted prospect during recent weeks. Ellis made an official visit to UAB during the weekend and walked away committed to the Blazers. GAVSV.com spoke with Ellis about his decision.

Peach County quarterback Bryan Ellis made an official visit to UAB this past weekend and decided that the Conference USA program was the right fit for him.

'We went into a room that Coach Callaway had set aside to interview each player individually.  He told me he had six scholarships left and he was offering me one of them.  He said to let him know soon if I was going to take it.  Because if not, they needed to go in a different direction.  I told him I would be coming here next year."

Ellis (6'2,195) enjoyed his time in Birmingham, but what led him to commit to the Blazers?

"It was a lot of fun," said Ellis.  "My host was the quarterback Sam Hunt.  We took a tour of the campus.  They'll be done with a new 10,000 square foot weight room in January.  They had pictures of what it's going to look like.  It's going to be real nice."

"We talked to the academic advisers.  I think the academic part and Coach Neil Callaway is what sealed it for me."

Ellis, a three-sport athlete at Peach County, led the Trojans to a Class AAA state championship in 2006.
