Three-star prospect Zeke Rozier was one of the most sought after prospects remaining on the board for several schools in the southeast.
It looked like Georgia was going to be the team to step up and claim the 6-foot-0, 197-pounder when he visited Athens this weekend, but that was scratched when the Bulldogs informed Rozier that an offer would not be available.
"Zeke did commit to Georgia Southern," said Bleckley County Head Coach Sam Barrs. "He said he was fine with Georgia Southern. I told him he needed to call Coach Hatcher and let him know that and that's what he did. They have converged and they are taking care of business."
Rozier rushed for 2,094 yards and 19 touchdowns last season. He is the No. 4 running back prospect in the Peach State by Scout.com.
"They're getting one heck of a good football player," said Coach Barrs. "Coach Hatcher and them have done a good job of coming in and solidifying some things and I'm pleased with that."
Rozier was a honorable mention All-State, All-Middle Georgia and two-time All-Region selection. He also played in the GACA North-South All-Star Game.
He will sign his letter of intent on Wednesday at 10:00am at Bleckley County High School in Cochran.
