"They sent me a text message yesterday," said Dennard. "It said for me to call them when I got a chance. So I called them and they said they were offering me a scholarship."
Clemson Tight Ends Coach Billy Napier is his recruiting coach. At first it was thought that the Tigers would recruit him as a defensive back, but now it seems he may be brought in as an athlete.
"They told me they were going to put me at defensive back, but now they are telling me that they're going to try me at maybe slot receiver or running back," said Dennard. "They said they wanted to try me out at different positions. "
Dennard is very excited about picking up his first official offer from Clemson.
"It means a lot to me," said Dennard. "I don't know much about their offensive or defensive schemes. Me and my family are going up there on March 10th to see how it is up there. I'm just happy to have a Division I offer."
Dennard said he's in no hurry to make a decision and that he wants to go through the recruiting process for a while. Check back with GAVSV.com for more updates on the Wilcox County athlete.
