Berkmar 2009 Prospect One To Watch

Class of 2009 prospect Kevin Minter of Lilburn, Ga., put on a show at the Kenndey/CES combine held in Duluth, Ga. on February 18th. The Berkmar linebacker showed why he will be highly recruited next season.

At 6-foot, 230-pounds, Kevin Minter's fast 40 time of 4.59 seconds at the Kenndey/CES combine made him one the best 2009 prospects in attendance.  He posted an impressive 4.09-second 20-yard shuttle, 32-inch vertical and 24 repetitions of 185 pounds.

"It was 100 of the best athletes in Georgia," said Minter.  It was great just to be a part of that.  I was pretty pleased with what I was able to do.   I was compared to Rennie Curran and that's pretty good for me."

He finished his sophomore season as a two-year starter with the Patriots. After being forced to play defensive end the past two seasons, Berkmar finally has enough depth to move Minter to his natural linebacker position.

"I had 154 tackles last year," he said. "I played at defensive end the last two years, but I'll be playing at middle linebacker next year.  I was actually suppose to be playing at middle linebacker last year, but we were kind of lacking at the defensive end position."

"I like Georgia, Florida State, Miami and Auburn," said Minter when asked about current favorites. "I Really don't have a favorite right now."
