Toccoa, Ga - An interesting trend within the Class of 2008 has been the early commitments. Stephens County running back Tauren Poole only added to the craze when he committed to Tennessee while attending the Tenn/LSU game at Neyland Stadium last November.
"When I went up there, they kind of made me feel at home," said Poole. "The atmosphere and the people were great. I talked to all the coaches and they made me feel good about the program. They made me feel like they wanted me there."
"It wasn't a matter of getting it out of the way. I just felt like Tennessee was the place for me. I really had a good time during my visit up there.
"I'm still committed, but I'm kind of leaving my options open," the 5-foot-10, 200-pound Poole said. "There is still a couple of places that I want to visit. There is still some things I need to sort out a little bit."
Poole maintains that he is still committed to Tennessee, but he does want to take a closer look at three other schools.
"I'm very interested in Georgia Tech, Auburn and Clemson," said Poole. "Me and my Mom are going back to Tennessee for a visit. I've already been to Auburn for a camp, but I want to go back there for a visit. I also plan on visiting Clemson and Georgia Tech as well."Tauren Poole in action:
