North Oconee's Eli Crawford has decided to play his college ball for the Valparaiso Crusaders.
"I just really felt comfortable with everybody up there," said the 6-foot-1, 192-pounder from Bogart, Ga. "I really like Coach Sam Bernardi, my recruiting coordinator. I always enjoy talking with their coaching staff. I think it will be the perfect place for me."
Crawford earned a full scholarship to play with the Crusaders. He will be traveling to Valparaiso, Indiana for a visit on April 13th.
"I'll have to do is fill out the paper work," said Crawford. "They said they would take care of the rest for me. They're going to try me out at free safety, but I'm up to 200-pounds now. I think I could probably end up at strong safety."
"I love contact, so wherever they put me will be fine with me. They want me to visit them on April 13th. That's their first weekend of spring practice. I just want to go up there and see who my competition is. I'm very excited about it."
Crawford, who runs a 4.68 forty, played linebacker as a junior before moving to free safety last season. It didn't take him long to adjust to his new position. He finished with 51 tackles and 9 interceptions as a senior.
