"Sanders Commings runs really well," said Westside Head Coach Gerald Barnes. "He's very competitive and he's very physical. He plays a little corner for us , but he can probably play strong safety too. He's also an excellent receiver."
"He's going to be our quarterback next year. That will be a little different for him, but he can throw a little bit too. I think he's going to be a super receiver or defensive back at the next level."
"I think it's wide open right now. Everybody that's called has said something different. Some Recruiters say defensive back and then they see him on film and they change to receiver or vice-versa. He has really good hands, so it's been kinda both ways really."
Georgia and Auburn have already extended offers to the 6-2, 195-pounder and several more schools are contacting him regularly. In fact, two other schools could be very close to offering a scholarship as well.
"We've got some stuff from Tennessee, Arkansas, Duke, LSU, Georgia Tech and Marshall," said Coach Barnes. "Of course, Army and schools like that have called too. There has been a lot of schools from around here."
"Florida called and they said they were going to offer him this weekend. They want to see him in Gainesville for their junior day. Maryland also said something about offering, but I'm not exactly sure when their going to do it."
Commings is still undecided when it comes to naming a favorite school.
So far, he has visited two schools and both have offered.
"I've been to Georgia and Auburn's junior day," he said. "I like both of 'em. I really enjoyed it at Auburn and I got to watch them practice. Georgia was great. I talked to all of the coaches. I like what they offer academically and they also talked to me about playing baseball."
Commings would like to have the opportunity to play baseball and football at the next level. He is currently batting .423 with 4 home runs while roaming centerfield for the Westside baseball team.
