Garrett Embry Adds Another Offer

Roswell, Ga. athlete Garrett Embry continues to add more offers. The wide receiver/safety prospect added another scholarship recently to push his total to three.

Another school has come forward with an offer for Roswell High wide receiver/safety prospect Garrett Embry.

"Air Force just offered me a scholarship," Embry said. "I'm very proud to get the offer, but I really don't know a whole lot about them yet."

The Air Force Academy joins the growing list of schools that have offer Embry. He had already picked up two early offers from Central Florida and Baylor.

Embry visited Waco, Texas and Orlando, Florida during his spring break.

Baylor - "I went to Baylor during spring break," Embry said. "I definitely enjoyed it a lot. Nick Florence just committed to them.  He's a quarterback from South Garland, Texas. Me and him hit it off pretty well.  He's trying to get me to go there. I get a text message from him almost everyday kidding me about coming to Baylor.  We have a pretty good relationship."

"They've got some very good coaches. I definitely like them. They're very family oriented and that's a very big deal for the school that I decide to commit to.  I could definitely see myself going to Baylor.  I really enjoyed myself there."

"Academically, they're very good and that's something that I'm looking for in a school. Their business school is top eight in the nation, so that's definitely what I'm looking for."

Central Florida - "It went well," he said. "I got to see all of the coaches and that was really good.  Coach Earnest Collins (DB's) is a great coach.  He's a tough love kind of coach. He's going to acknowledge when you make a good play, but he's also going to acknowledge when you make a bad one.  I definitely like that in a coach. Coach David Kelly (WR's) is the same way and that's the way I like to be coached."

Without a list of favorites, Embry is still in the process of sifting through all the programs that are showing him interest.

"I'm still wide open right now." he said. "I'm hearing from a different school just about everyday, so it's real tough to kinda narrow it down.  But I'm gonna narrow it down to about five at the end of spring training which will be like May 14th.  I definitely want to try to start putting a list out there pretty soon."

Embry, who is a wide receiver and defensive back prospect, is also receiving interest from the likes of Boston College, Central Florida, Georgia and USC.

As a wideout, Embry caught 15 passes for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. As a standout defensive back, he had 30 tackles, 3 interceptions and 10 knock-downs.
