Daniel Adds Second Offer

Roswell running back Alex Daniel recently added his second scholarship offer after picking up his first last week. Daniel talked to GAVSV.com about his latest offer from a C-USA program.

"My high school coach told me," said Alex Daniel. "He said that he had talked to Coach George O'Leary and he said they wanted to offer me. After I got off the phone with him, Coach Dave Huxtable sent me a text saying that they were sending me an offer and congratulating me."

Daniel, a standout athlete with Roswell High School, is being recruited by UCF as a running back. As a junior, he rushed for 1,854 yards and 19 touchdowns leading the Hornets to a share of the 2006 Class 5A state champion.

The 5-foot-11, 198-pounder traveled to Orlando, Fla. a couple of weeks ago for Central Florida's junior day.

"I like the campus a lot, said Daniel. "It's right near Orlando and everything.  It's real nice. They have a whole bunch of new stuff. They were building on to the stadium and everything while we were down there. Their facility is real nice.'

"I got a chance to meet their Offensive Coordinator Tim Salem. He seemed like he knew what he was doing. He was a good guy and I liked him a lot."

The Golden Knights are the second school to extend a scholarship offer to Daniel.  The Air Force became the first when they offered last Thursday.

He remains wide open, but UCF is definitely one of his top schools.

"As soon as my whole recruiting process started, UCF has always been one of my favorite schools," Daniel said.

Several West Coast programs are recruiting Daniel including BYU, San Diego State, and ColoradoTulane, Southern Miss, Alabama, Vanderbilt and Boston College are also showing interest in the talented tailback from Roswell, Georgia.
