"I really hadn't been in contact with LSU, but they called my coach and told him they had an offer for me," said Robinson.
Robinson already had six offers including South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Duke and Wake Forest.
What are his thoughts on picking up an offer from LSU?
"I'm excited about it," Robinson said. "Just getting an offer from a team that produces that many NFL players is big. They played in the second best bowl game last year, so that was exciting. Just to be considered in the list of guys they would like to have was a honor."
Former GAC teammate T-Bob Hebert signed with the Tigers back in February and he's already recruiting Robinson to join him at LSU.
"I told T-Bob and he's excited," said Robinson. "He wants me to come there. I was real excited to hear about the offer and the possibility that I might get a chance to play with him."
Florida is just one of several other schools that are close to pulling the trigger on Robinson.
"I got two text messages from Florida yesterday," he said. "They just started getting in contact with me. There are a couple of schools that are starting to pop up after the Nike camp and everything. Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Maryland are some of the schools that are talking about offering."
Which schools lead for the 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker?
"I'm still open," he said. "I know there are a couple of big schools that are showing interest, so I'm going to wait and see what happens there."
