Alex Daniel Adds SEC Offer

Roswell running back Alex Daniel will be one of the many top prospects in attendance at the Scout.com Elite Camp on Saturday at Georgia Tech. GAVSV.com talked to Daniel about his latest offer from a school in the SEC.

"I got an offer from Arkansas today," said Alex Daniel. "I hadn't really talked to any of their coaches before, so it was kind of surprising.  Last week, my Head Coach Tim McFarlin, said that they called and asked for film of me and Ebele Okakpu."

"Coach McFarlin said that Coach Houston Nutt called him about an hour ago and said they were ready to offer me. He said they were going to send me the papers sometime next week."

Troy, Central Florida, and Ball State are the other three schools to offer Daniel a scholarship.  However, the Arkansas offer is a very special one for the 5-foot-11, 198-pounder.

"They're in the SEC and that's great," said Daniel. "I've followed them a little bit last year and I know they had a quality running back last year in Darren McFadden. He'll be back."

"Now that I've got this offer, I'm sure that I'll be attending a camp there this summer. Coach Nutt is a really good coach and everything. I'm really excited about the offer.  It's a big one for me."

More offers could be right around the corner for Daniel.

"The Miami-Ohio Coach said they were probably going to offer me sometime next week," Daniel said. "He said he and the running backs coach looked at my film. The Head Coach was out of town, but they were planning on watching my film with him sometime next week."

"Coach Wood from Purdue said they were probably going to offer me sometime this weekend.  My Coach told me Louisiana Tech is also going to offer me."
