Two More ACC Offers For Roswell LB

Peach State linebacker prospect Ebele Okakpu is getting plenty of attention from a number of quality schools across the country. Already double digits in offers, Okakpu just recently added two more from the ACC. spoke with the Roswell standout about the latest with his recruiting.

Roswell's Ebele Okakpu is considered by some to be the No. 1 linebacker prospect in Georgia and the offers just keep coming for the 6-2, 205-pounder.

"I just picked up two more offers from North Carolina and Virginia Tech. They offered me two days ago," said Okakpu.

Vanderbilt, Miami, Louisville, Purdue, and Indiana are just a few of the other 12 schools that have already offered Okakpu a scholarship. He recently told that Miami was a early favorite when the Canes offered last month, but today, Okakpu told that he doesn't have a leader right now.

"I think I'm still kinda open," Okakpu said. "I don't really have a favorite. I can't really rank anybody or anything like that. I just got to go visit some more schools before I can name any favorites."

"I'm going to try to commit before the season starts, so I can concentrate on helping my team win another state championship."

Roswell, the team Okakpu is referring to, finished undefeated last year only to share the state championship after tying Peachtree Ridge in the title game. Next season the Hornets will be looking to repeat as state champions, but this time they want to win it outright.

Expectations are already very high for Roswell with eight to nine potential D-I prospects on their roster. Players like RB Alex Daniel, WR Garrett Embry, DE Curtis Hazelton, QB Dustin Taliaferro, LB Zack Waddell, WR P.J. Beidel, and CB Dominique Wheeler just to name a few.

"I think were going to be pretty good," said Okakpu. "It's going to be hard to live up to the expectations, but I think we can do it. We've got a lot of guys back, so I think we'll be alright."

Okakpu was one of the top prospects in attendance at the Elite Camp on May 26th. It's the only camp he has attended so far this spring, but he will be in Tuscaloosa next weekend for the Alabama.
