Georgia on His Mind

Heard County running back Dontavius Jackson has decided he wants to be a Bulldog.

After months of speculation, Dontavius Jackson announced Wednesday that he plans to attend the University of Georgia.

In doing so, the four-star running back ended a whirlwind recruiting battle with the likes of Alabama, LSU, Clemson and Penn State. His commitment also gives the Bulldogs another talented player to an already stellar recruiting class. Prior to Jackson's decision, Georgia had the No. 3-ranked class for 2008 according to

Jackson, who is ranked at the 12-best running back prospect in the nation, is also the fifth player to join that class that plays running back for their respective high school teams.

Although, Bulldogs fans can rest easy knowing that the 5-foot-10 1/2 and 196 pound star is the only true rusher of the bunch.

So, where does this big commitment leave Georgia now in the recruiting rankings? Is it enough to overtake UCLA and Notre Dame, who are ranked Nos. 2 and 1, respectively?

Stay tuned to find out!
