Stephens County High School is set to serve as the backdrop for a showdown between the Indians and Hart County in a contest whose winner will step off the field with the Region 8-AAA title.
Both teams have had a stellar 2007 thus far and as a result find themselves in the position to capture the Regional crown with a victory. And when you match two undefeated teams against one another with that kind of incentive on the line, fireworks are almost always a given.
No. 2 Stephens County (8-0 overall, 4-0 Region) have benefitted this year from an offense that seemioly scores at will. The Indians are averaging 35.8 points per game thanks to a an offensive attack that features Scout.com three-star running back Tauren Poole.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder has been committed to the University of Tennessee for over a year now.
For Hart County, Bulldogs (7-0-1, 5-0) also feature an offense that is paced by a talented player.
Scout.com two-star quarterback Kurvin Curry has had immense success this season. He is aided in his efforts by rising junior tailback Ben Teasley.
Hart County is averaging 27.0 points per game and has a defense that is allowing just 6.6 points.
Stephens County has won the previous four matchups between the two Region rivals.
