Senior night wasn't much of a spectacle at Newnan High on Friday night.
After all, the Cougars boast only two starting seniors on the entire team. But despite playing with a youthful group, Newnan earned a 19-11 victory over East Coweta High.
The win captures the 4-AAAAA crown for Newnan and marks the second time in as many years that the Cougars have achieved that honor.
The game's outcome means that both Newnan and East Coweta hold Nos. 1 and 2 seedings, respectively, in the region when playoffs start.
Newnan's road to the playoffs hasn't always been easy but they have been fairly dominant from start to finish. After losing to Carrollton High in week two, Friday night's score against East Etowah was the closest of any of the Cougar's ballgames.
