Three-star offensive lineman Cordy Glenn let it be known this past weekend that he is going to be playing college football in his home state.
The Riverdale High standout, who has been recruited by the likes of such programs as Alabama, LSU, Arkansas and Virginia, announced Sunday morning he will play for head coach Mark Richt at the University of Georgia.
The commitment of the 6-foot-5 and 310-pounder is huge for the Bulldogs because of the number of prospects now on board. He is commitment No. 23 and Richt now can focus on the few remaining players left on his recruiting board.
"I like the academics," Glenn told DawgPost.com's Dean Legge. "I really like the coaches, too. I liked the way they talked. I liked how they talked about family life – that's why I felt Georgia was the place for me."
Glenn's pledge to UGA wasn't necessarily a surprise but it did end some speculation that he was actually leaning towards the University of Virginia.
He will have the chance to compete for immediate playing in Athens when he arrives there next summer.
