According to an article published by SuperPrep.com's Steve Robertson, Salem High safety Corey Shields has committed to play college football at Western Kentucky University.
He committed to the Hilltoppers Friday night, turning down offers from two other schools.
"I had offers from Middle Tennessee State and UAB too," Shields said in an interview with SuperPrep.com. "I picked Western Kentucky because it's not that far from home. I like the atmosphere there and the coaches."
Shields, who is a one-star prospect that measures in at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, said that Western Kentucky is looking at him at either safety or wide receiver.
He is slated to take an official visit to Western Kentucky on Dec. 9.
