At one point in time a verbal commitment to Ole MIss, Bernard Smith is now a pledge to Western Kentucky, according to report published Wednesday night here on Scout.com.
The nation's No. 28-ranked southside linebacker picked up an early offer from the Rebels and committed to them over the summer. But that was short-lived as Smith and Ole Miss parted ways in August.
"I do not know," Smith said at the time in an interview with Scout.com about what transpired between the two sides. "There were a lot of things going on. First, they are the only school that was recruiting me for linebacker, and I want to play on the line."
And Smith, who has bulked up quite a bit since August, just may get the chance to do so with Western Kentucky.
