It was a two-team race for a while but according to Cedar Shoals linebacker DeDe Lattimore, a third college football program has let it be known they are very interested in his ability.
"I got my third offer," Lattimore toldGAVSV.com. "This one came from the coaches at UAB."
The 6-foot-1 1/2 and 218-pounder already had an offer from high-profile programs at Clemson and Kentucky, so what does he know about the Blazers?
"Honestly, I don't know much about them," Lattimore said. "I just know a little bit from what my coaches have told me. I have to look into them myself and learn more. I think one of their coaches is going to come visit me when they can to let me know about what goes on over there."
While Lattimore awaits word from UAB coaches he plans to take a trip to Lexington, Ky. to check out the Wildcats.
"I am going to go to Kentucky and see the school," he said. "I don't know when I am going yet but I am definitely going. I want to see the environment and the coaches and I want to see the school."
"I am also going to visit Oklahoma State."
As a junior a season ago, Lattimore made his mark on both sides of the football. On offense he ran the ball 88 times for 631 yards and six scores and at linebacker he posted 115 tackles in 10 games.
He says that colleges are looking at him at the position he feels most comfortable at: linebacker.
"I am a fearless player," Lattimore said when asked what makes him such a good defender. "I hit hard and I am aggressive. I also move quickly from sideline to sideline."
